Abbey Farm Cottage a 10 acre small holding nestled at the bottom of Chimney Bank on the edge of the village of  Rosedale Abbey in the heart of the North York Moors National Park,the home of Rosedale Goats Cheese, Raw Goats Drinking  Milk and Goat Meat. Activities that you can partake in at the farm are,Goat Yoga, Goats cheese making courses and other goat activities including bottle feeding in spring and summer.

These  activities can be combined with luxury glamping in one of our two bespoke shepherds huts, or if glamping isn't for you we have a one bedroom cottage over looking the goat fields,all our accommodation comes with its own wood fired fired hot tub with a view.

 

Abbey Farm Cottage is a fabulous base where you can walk, cycle or horse ride over the North York Moors, and for the less energetic just sit, relax and enjoy nature at its best.

 Our Luxury Glamping  Shepherds Huts 

Robins Rest is so named, as a robin flew onto the hut as it was delivered by the manufacturers (Pond Cottage Antiques of Stillington) in September and has been ever present since, as are the barn owls that hunt in the fields and reed bed surrounding the paddock.

Wake up to the amazing views from the delightfully decorated hut which is located in a small paddock on the farm where free range ducks and chickens roam.

Robins Rest benefits from:

  • Double antique French bedstead with superb tailor-made mattress and base by Pond Cottage Antiques;

  • shower room within the farmhouse with large walk in shower, toilet and hand basin; 

  • The Hide a  fully equipped heated kitchenette alongside with eating area.

  • shared washing machine, dishwasher and dryer in the laundry

  • Private patio area with seating, chiminea, Weber kettle BBQ and firepit

Willows a bespoke shepherds hut built on antique wheels supplied by (Pond Cottage Antiques of Stillington) Willows was built  on site by a local carpenter and is so named, as it overlooks the  Vegetable garden  which is surrounded by a willow hedge and duck pond, as with Robins Rest  the barn owls can be seen hunting in the surrounding fields.

You can wake up to an amazing view of Chimney Bank from the comfort of the antique bedstead in the delightfully decorated hut which is has its own private patio, on the farm where free range ducks and chickens roam.

Hootsman – One Bedroom Cottage

 

Hootsman a single storey barn conversion with stone floors throughout,  has a living Kitchen with a hand painted kitchen painted with Belfast sink, electric oven, fridge freezer, dishwasher and oak work tops , double bedroom with en suite shower room with large walk in rainfall shower.

Hootsman  is so named after the Barn Owls that swoop across the fields around Abbey Farm Cottage and through the garden most days, and  the song that Jonty danced into at the start of Suzie’s and Jonty’s wedding!!

Bring Your Horse on Holiday

 

Abbey Farm Cottage benefits from an abundance of bridal paths on its doorstep.

To enable visitors to benefit from the amazing hacking facilities and views that are in abundance in the North York Moors National Park, we have two large stables within our barn which will be available for those wishing to bring their horse on holiday when staying on the farm for a modest extra charge.

Suzie and Jonty provide:

  • Straw beds;

  • Hay (at extra charge);

  • Use of riding paddock;

  • Small electrified paddock;

  • Secure Tack Room;

  • Pre-booked baggage to your next stop service (at extra charge);

  • Pack up meals (at extra charge).

Abbey Farm Cottage aim to be  British Horse Association approved and Ride Yorkshire  affiliated.

REQUIREMENTS – Due to the proximity of visiting horses to our own animals, we require:

  • Full, up to date Vaccination Certificate with 6 months vaccinations.
