Golden Adventures: From Rosedale to Frome (and Beyond!)

Our trip to the Global Cheese Awards this year turned into quite the adventure. Following our cheese tasting and Tapas with friends on the Sunday when the cheeses were chosen. We had planned to set off for Frome with Bellenda CampaBertie, our trusty camper, but at the last minute he decided he wasn’t quite up for the long journey. With plans quickly reshuffled, a hotel was booked, the car packed, and—because we were extending our trip to swing by Cornbury Horse Trials to watch our daughter Elspeth compete in the National Six-Year-Old Event Horse Championships—we also squeezed in a tent!

Despite the changes, the journey was more than worth it. The Rosedale picked up a Gold and two Silvers, while Bell End Blue achieved three Bronze awards! Not bad for two cheeses which have been in production for less than 2 years!!

It was a wonderful reminder that even when plans change, the unexpected can still lead to golden outcomes—both out eventing and in the cheese room. We couldn’t be prouder of our goats, our cheeses, and of course Elspeth for her own competition adventure.

What a week—campers, hotels, tents, horses, family, friends, mud and most importantly, award-winning cheese!
